Crackit hunts Britain’s bedroom predators for Channel 5

Three-parter from Police 999 indie features exclusive access to National Crime Agency investigations

With access to the investigating officers and assets of three of the National Crime Agency’s biggest online predator cases in the UK, Crackit TV is hunting bedroom predators for Channel 5.

Three-part series Britain’s Bedroom Predators (w/t) from the Police 999 indie has gained exclusive access to the investigating officers and assets of the NCA at a time where cyber-crime is increasingly prevalent, increasing by 390% in the last two years.

Across 90-minute episodes, the programme will delve into the NCA’s biggest and most prolific predator cases in the UK. The films hear from victims and will detail the global hunt and eventual capture of criminals who preyed on victims from the privacy of their bedrooms.

Crackit TV also secured exclusive access to the NCA investigation team’s arrest body cam footage, in-custody interviews, online files, social media interactions, images and audio recordings.

Hunting Britain’s Bedroom Predators (w/t) was commissioned by Adrian Padmore, commissioning editor for factual at Channel 5.

He said: “We’re constantly looking to push the boundaries with our high impact, feature length, true crime thrillers. With exclusive access to the National Crime Agency, this series goes behind closed doors in a way never done before, exploring just how easily the web of online predators can enter our world, with such disturbing consequences.”

Crackit TV chief executive Elaine Hackett said: “With cyber abuse of this nature on the rise, this series will continue to raise awareness of these crimes and the kind of people carrying them out behind closed doors.  Hunting Britain’s Bedroom Predators is an exclusive exploration of the National Crime Agency’s work into online predators, a crime which has unfortunately exploded in recent years.”

Hunting Britain’s Bedroom Predators (w/t) will air on Channel 5 in early 2025.
