Cruising Paradise: Above and Below Deck
‘Cruising Paradise: Above and Below Deck’ takes viewers behind the scenes of life at sea with the young British and international crews running two very different cruise ships. Across the first half of the series, we follow Star Princess, the newest and largest ship in the Princess Cruises fleet, as she sails a month-long route of the Caribbean – taking in the tropical islands of the East and Central America and Mexico in the West; from the white sandy beaches of the Bahamas to the sharks in Belize and the reefs of Roatan.
Halfway through the series we switch ships, joining the six-star luxury Regent Seven Seas Splendor as she sails a twenty-four-day route from Buenos Aires up the coast of Brazil to Rio de Janeiro and beyond, before crossing to the Caribbean. It’s a different kind of glamour: suites with private balconies, four speciality restaurants, and a suite billed as one of the most expensive at sea, costing £284,000 for two on this twenty-four-day voyage.
